SELLERSBURG —  A motorcyclist was killed late Thursday night in Clark County.

Charles R. Cahall Jr., 42, of Mt. Zion Road in Henryville, was travelling northbound on Interstate 65 at a high rate of speed swerving in and out of traffic when his Harley Davidson collided with a semi-tractor and trailer near the 11.5 mile marker just before midnight, witnesses told Indiana State Police troopers.

According to a news release from ISP, witnesses said the semi-tractor and trailer involved in the crash continued travelling north. Police do not know if the truck driver knew the crash had occurred.

Troopers are requesting that anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about the vehicle that left the scene contact the state police post at Sellersburg at 812-246-5424.

Cahall was not wearing a helmet, and troopers are investigating the possibility that alcohol played a role in the crash. The investigation is continuing.
