Closures related to Bridges Project listed

The following closures and lane restrictions are expected the rest of this week and next week in connection with construction on the downtown portion of the Ohio River Bridges Project.

Continuing closures and restrictions in Indiana include U.S. 31 south (Exit Ramp 1) from Brown Station Way to Stansifer Avenue, which has been reduced to two lanes.

U.S. 31 south, in the area just south of Stansifer Avenue, has been reduced to one lane, but vehicles are still able to exit onto 10th Street.

The northbound collector/distributor ramp in Jeffersonville has been reduced to one lane between 10th Street and Stansifer Avenue. The closure will be in place through late 2015.

On the east-end portion of the project in Indiana the blasting schedule for week of Jan. 13 is scheduled to occur on Utica-Sellersburg Road, near the Brookhollow subdivision. Prior to each blast in this location, traffic must be stopped for five to 20 minutes for the safety of the workers and the traveling public. Traffic stops during the blasts will occur on Utica-Sellersburg Road between Shadowbrook Lane and Surrey Road.

The dates and approximate times (within 15 minutes) will be: at about 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13; about 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14; about 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15; about 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16; and about 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17.

Traffic changes on the east-end include Port Road traffic, which will be shifted west Jan. 15 through March. Traffic will be shifted west to the southbound lanes on Port Road in the vicinity of Centennial Blvd. and the I-265 and the Ind. 62 interchange. This arrangement will likely continue for approximately one year.

Westbound lanes of I-265 will be closed Jan. 15 through March. The current westbound lanes of I-265 will be closed with traffic utilizing newly constructed crossovers. All eastbound and westbound traffic will use the current eastbound lanes.

The ramp from northbound Ind. 62 to westbound SR 265 will be closed Jan. 15 through March. The ramp from northbound Ind. 62 to westbound I-265 will be closed. A detour will be in place for traffic to access westbound I-265 from northbound Ind. 62.
