The latest bridges-related road closures

Seventh Street affected next week

CLARK COUNTY — The following list of closures and lane restrictions are expected in connection with construction on the downtown portion of the Ohio River Bridges Project.

Work scheduled for today in Kentucky, the ramp from Interstate 71 south to I-64 west is scheduled to close overnight for the placement of temporary barrier wall. It’s scheduled to close around 9 p.m. and reopen by 5 a.m.

In Louisville the right lane of Jackson Street from Market Street to Main Street is scheduled to be closed today for utility work. Lane restrictions are also scheduled at Jefferson Street and Preston Street today 6 for work in the area.

Work scheduled for next week on the Indiana side of the Ohio River includes the closure of Seventh Street from Missouri Avenue to Broadway Street. The closure is expected Monday morning, Sept. 9 and is a permanent closure. VFW Boulevard will be closing from Seventh Street to Ninth Street, also on Monday morning and is also a permanent closure.

On the Kentucky side work scheduled for Monday, Sept. 9 will close the ramp from I-71 south to I-64 west overnight for the placement of temporary barrier wall. It’s scheduled to close around 9 p.m. and reopen by 5 a.m.

Work scheduled to begin Tuesday, Sept. 10 includes the closure of the ramp from I-64 east to I-71 north overnight, Tuesday through Thursday for work on temporary lighting. The ramp is scheduled to close around 9 p.m. and reopen by 5 a.m. each day.

Several lane restrictions are scheduled to begin Monday, Sept. 9 in Louisville associated with the ongoing construction in the area. Lane restrictions will be in effect at Jefferson Street and Preston Street Monday through Friday for work in the area.

The right lane of Jackson Street from Market Street to Main Street is scheduled to be closed Monday through Friday for utility work. The right lane of Hancock Street from Market Street to Main Street is scheduled to be closed Monday through Friday for utility work.

Work scheduled to begin Tuesday, Sept. 10 includes the closure of the right lane of Main Street from Hancock Street to Jackson Street, from Tuesday through Friday. In addition, overnight lane restrictions are expected on Main Street from Hancock Street to Jackson Street Tuesday and Wednesday for storm sewer work. One lane will remain open in each direction. Additional lanes are scheduled to close around 7 p.m. and reopen by 5 a.m.

Ongoing work and closures include, in Indiana, includes U.S. 31 south at exit ramp 1 from Brown Station Way to Stansifer Avenue will be reduced to two lanes for the next several months. U.S. 31 south, in the area just south of Stansifer Avenue, will be reduced to one lane for the next several months. Vehicles are still able to exit onto 10th Street.

In Kentucky, the ramp from I-64 east to I-65 south closed July 15 and is scheduled to be closed through the spring of 2016. The right lane of I-65 south from the Jefferson Street ramp to Muhammad Ali Boulevard closed July 15 and is scheduled to be closed through 2016.
