Bridge inspections to affect traffic

Officials eye future maintenance projects

> SOUTHERN INDIANA — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans joint walk-through inspections with the Indiana Department of Transportation on three Ohio River bridges next week, according to a news release.

These inspections allow engineers an annual review of the structures and opportunity to discuss future maintenance projects on shared river crossings. In order to complete the inspections, traffic will be impacted.

Monday, Sept. 9, the right lane of northbound Interstate 65 will be closed from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

On Tuesday, Sept. 10, the right lane of the I-64 Sherman Minton Bridge will be closed in each direction from 9:30 a.m. until noon. Also on Tuesday, from 1 to 4 p.m., engineers will perform an inspection of the Clark Memorial Bridge, utilizing the sidewalks on the bridge.

On Wednesday, Sept. 11, engineers will inspect the Milton-Madison Bridge from 9:30 a.m. until noon utilizing the shoulder closures that are currently in place for construction of the new bridge.

The starting date and duration of work may be adjusted for inclement weather or other unforeseeable delays.
