> SOUTHERN INDIANA —
Lane restrictions and closures will affect drivers near the interchange with Interstate 265 starting next week.
Ind. 62 northbound will be restricted to one lane from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting Tuesday, Nov. 19, through Thursday, Nov. 21, near the interchange.
The road will be one lane for about a half-mile in each direction from the interchange with I-265. Residents are asked to use caution and drive slowly when driving in the area during this time, according to a news release from the Ohio River Bridges Project.
In the event of unfavorable weather or other unforeseen activities, the schedule might change.
If any such changes occur, they will be posted on kyinbridges.com, on Twitter @eastendcrossing and at www.facebook.com/ohiorivereastendcrossing.
Interstate 64 in Floyd County will also be subject to lane restrictions this weekend and next weekend.
The Indiana Department of Transportation plans to close lanes on I-64 this weekend and next weekend at the bridge over Quarry Road in New Albany Township — located .73 miles east of U.S. 150 at the 120 mile marker. Repairs are being made to approach slabs at both ends of the bridge.
Restrictions set to begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, will include the closure of the U.S. 150 ramp to eastbound I-64, closure of the eastbound I-64 right lane between mile markers 119.8 and 120.1. The eastbound I-64 left lane will remain open, but with reduced lane and shoulder width; wide loads should take note.
The closures will continue through 6 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18.
Next weekend’s scheduled slab repairs are set for Friday, Nov. 22, through Monday, Nov. 25, and will also require lane closures.
