Accounting firm moves division to Jeffersonville

20 jobs coming to city

JEFFERSONVILLE — A regional accounting firm is moving 20 jobs from Louisville to Jeffersonville.

Mountjoy Chilton Medley LLP, a regional certified public accounting firm, is moving its accounting division to Jeffersonville.

Before recent reorganizations within the company, Mountjoy Chilton Medley employed about 50 people in the McCauley Nicolas Centre on North Shore Drive. The additional 20 people moving to Jeffersonville represent a 40 percent increase in employees in that office, a result of relocating the firm’s Louisville-based accounting services team, according to a press release.

The accounting services team serves as an outsourced accounting group for small and mid-sized businesses, typically providing bookkeeping, payroll processing and calculations, cash management and general day-to-day accounting services for clients.

“We strongly believe that Southern Indiana is poised for significant economic growth, especially in the small to mid-size business market, so we’re devoting more resources to enhance that growth,” said Diane Medley, co-managing partner for Mountjoy Chilton Medley.

According to the release, the move of the accounting services team to Jeffersonville is expected to greatly increase the company’s capacity and benefit emerging businesses in Southern Indiana.

Mountjoy Chilton Medley began operating in Indiana in late 2012, after a merger with McCauley Nicolas CPAs & Advisors.

The company employs more than 130 CPAs and is the largest full-service accounting firm based in the region, according to the press release.
