From a home base to a sprawling, 180,000-square-foot facility in New Albany’s Grant Line Business Park, the story of L&D Mail Masters Inc., is one of innovation, persistence and growing services.
Blazing that trail has been Diane Fischer, its president and owner, who will share the direct mail consulting firm’s 26-year journey with the public at One Southern Indiana’s next “Pearls of Wisdom” breakfast.
The popular event for both men and women will be 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 8 to 10 a.m. at Kye’s II, 500 Missouri Ave. in Jeffersonville. Moved from Kye’s I because of sell-out crowds, the breakfast series highlights a business owner who shares the challenges, successes, and learning points along the way to success.
Reservations are $30 each for One Southern Indiana members and $45 per breakfast for guests. Reservations may be made by calling One Southern Indiana at 812-945-0266 or logging onto the website at 1si.org.
Fischer headlines the third in the “Pearls of Wisdom” series. The final one Dec. 11 will feature Judy Schad, cheesemaker and co-owner/president of Capriole Farms, as guest speaker.
POPULAR ‘PEARLS’ FEATURES
Attendees at each breakfast will be eligible to win an 18-inch strand of Voyager pearls with matching bracelet that also can be used as a necklace extender. Donated by Bob and Jean Caesar, owners of Endris Jewelers on Pearl St. in New Albany, the pearls will be given away at the final breakfast on Dec. 11.
Several local women executives will lead table discussions, another popular feature of the series, following the keynote address.
Fischer, a native of Starlight, Ind., is one of 11 children who learned the importance of family and hard work at an early age, she said. She attended Indiana University Southeast and began her career as a customer service representative for Bruce Fox Inc., and then as customer service manager at Fire King International, where she worked for nearly 10 years, managed 14 people, and traveled extensively throughout the United States.
Identifying a significant need, Fischer founded L&D Mail Masters, Inc., in her home in 1987. Its growth was rapid, and its sites moved to two other locations before it built and then expanded its current facility and services. Its 120 employees now offer direct marketing services, including mail shop services, variable digital and offset printing, data solutions, and campaign design and programming.
