Clarksville man spits blood on officers

Taken into custody on claim of domestic violence

CLARKSVILLE —

A Clarksville man spat blood on several Clarksville police officers following his arrest in his home last week.

Michael J. Fahimi, 23, of 215 State St., appeared in a Clark County court Monday where he faces seven felony charges.

Police responded to his home, which Fahimi shares with his girlfriend, for a domestic incident, after the woman called 911 about 1:20 a.m. June 2.

Officers were met outside of the home by the woman who said that she could not use her door key to get into the home because Fahimi had used a deadbolt to lock her out.

She also told police that Fahimi had struck her in the face with a closed fist that caused her nose to bleed, moments before she dialed 911. Police reported she had wounds consistent with her claim of abuse from Fahimi.

While police were present, the woman entered the home through a window in the rear of the structure, and once inside, she opened a backdoor to let the officers in the home.

One of the officers reported Fahimi was found in the home, “extremely belligerent, cursing this officer and calling him names. He also appeared to be extremely intoxicated,” according to the affidavit.

Fahimi refused to comply with the officer’s commands to place his hands behind his back, and the officers responded by physically restraining him.

The officer reported he used a leg sweep during the struggle, which caused himself and Fahimi to fall to the ground. When Fahimi hit the ground, his nose was injured and began to bleed.

According to the affidavit, Fahimi then spat blood on an officer in the immediate and continued to spit blood on additional officers who responded to provide backup.

After he was taken out of the home, he spat on a police vehicle, according to the affidavit.
