Church hosting caregiver event

Southern Indiana area caregivers are invited to a free event designed to provide encouragement and strength for the often difficult job of caring for older adults at 6 p.m. Oct. 29 at Graceland Baptist Church, 3600 Kamer-Miller Road, New Albany.

The featured speaker will be Lori Hogan, author of Strength for the Moment and co-founder of Home Instead Senior Care.

HAMBURG

Annual Haunted Woods set

The 20th annual Haunted Woods, sponsored by The Pepper Upper Club, will take place from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12 and Saturday, Oct. 13, on Ind. 60, 2.5 miles west of Hamburg. Watch for signs.

Admission is $10 per person. Concession stand opens at 6:30 p.m. The event will provide fun for the entire family.

JEFFERSONVILLE

Stemler to preview session

State Representative Steven R. Stemler, D-Jeffersonville, invited the public to the sixth annual fried bologna and bean soup legislative session preview, 6 to 8:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 15, at St. Augustine Parish Hall, 316 E. Maple St., Jeffersonville.

RSVP by Saturday, Oct. 13 by calling 812-283-3106. There will be Colts football door prizes.

JHS class of ’64 to meet

Jeffersonville High School Class of 1964 classmates will gather for their monthly luncheon at noon Friday, Oct. 12, at the Holiday Inn Lakeview, 505 Marriott Drive, Clarksville.

All classmates are encouraged to join for an hour of fun, food and reminiscing.

Tea Party to meet

The Clark County Tea Party invites the public to the group’s next meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at Silver Creek Middle School, 495 N. Indiana Ave., Sellersburg.

Guest speakers will include Alice Dorman Butler, candidate for Greater Clark County Schools Board; and a representative from Americans for Prosperity, which is an organization of grassroots leaders who engage citizens in the name of limited government and free markets on the local, state and federal levels.
