No option chosen yet to upgrade pump stations in Jeffersonville

(Continued)

JEFFERSONVILLE —

Flood Control District Board Member Dale Popp added that the preferences that the flood control district decides to pursue will be dictated by cost.

Herriford said within a week Strand Associates would be able to set a deadline for finalizing the report.

NEW LEADERSHIP CHOSEN

Popp was elected to serve as the flood control district board’s vice president and will assume the role vacated by Paul Kraft, who no longer serves on the board.

The board had been operating without a vice president since Kraft left the board. Jeffersonville Mayor Mike Moore serves as the board’s president.

INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT OK’D

Jeffersonville City and Flood Control District Attorney Les Merkley presented a memorandum of understanding that would allow Clarksville to improve a pump station at McCullough Pike and Brown’s Station Way.

The agreement would allow the district to grant temporary easement access to the area and is set to last no longer than three years.

The interlocal agreement was unanimously approved.
