The program will be held at the Purdue Technology Center, 3000 Technology Ave., in New Albany. 

The cost is $35 per person or $45 per couple and includes a notebook of reference information and diabetic recipes and samples of food prepared at the cooking schools. Learn how to cook with sweeteners, cook with less salt and fat, and prepare tasty dishes with fruits and vegetables. 

To register call the Purdue Extension Office at 812-948-5470 and request a registration form. Registration deadline is Thursday Jan.  31, and class space is limited to 25 per session.

 

IUS holding music auditions

The Music Department at Indiana University Southeast will hold auditions on Saturday, Feb. 2, and Saturday, March 2, for students interested in receiving a music scholarship and/or admission to the IU Southeast Music Department's music degree program.

Auditions are held in the Recital Hall of the Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center on the IU Southeast campus, 4201 Grant Line Road in New Albany. Students wishing to audition must complete an application and schedule an audition time on the Music Department's web site at www.ius.edu/music

 

Church offering Super Bowl event

Galatian Missionary Baptist Church, 2020 Maryland Ave., New Albany, is sponsoring a Super Bowl Saturday Buffalo Wing Cook-off from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the church. 

Come cast your vote on the best buffalo wings in Southern Indiana. Wing dinner includes wings from each team, potato salad, celery, dressing for wings, roll, a cookie and a soda,. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children; plain wings will be available.
