HOMETOWN NEWS: There’s plenty going on in Utica

UTICA — Here is a look at upcoming events in Utica:



TUESDAY, APRIL 8

Utica Parks and Recreation meeting, 5:30 p.m.; Planning & Zoning, 6 p.m.; and Town Board meeting, 7 p.m., at Utica Town Hall, 107 N. Fourth St..



APRIL 12

The Utica Preservation Association will sponsor an Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at the Utica Community Center.

Children in the community are invited to attend. Like the traditional Christmas with Santa celebration, a morning with the Easter bunny will provide enjoyment for both the young and the old alike.



APRIL 15

Old Utica School Preservation monthly meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. April 15, S.O.S. Headquarters, 108 S. Fourth  St., Utica. The group meets the third Tuesday of the month.



APRIL 18

Old Utica School Preservation is hosting an adult Easter egg hunt at 6 p.m. April 18 at S.O.S. Headquarters, 108 S. Fourth St., Utica. Chips and dip, along with coffee and tea will be served and prizes will be awarded.



APRIL 19

Old Utica School Preservation is hosting a kids Easter egg hunt at 1 p.m. April 19 at S.O.S. Headquarters, 108 S. Fourth  St., Utica. Hot dogs, chips and juice drinks will be served. Each child will receive a toy, as well as large prizes for special eggs or contest winners.



April 20

A community Easter Sunrise Service will be at 7 a.m. April 20 at Utica Hillcrest Cemetery, sponsored by the area churches. Following the service, coffee and pastries will be served at the Utica Baptist Church fellowship hall.



April 25

The Utica Hillcrest Cemetery Association will sponsor a fish fry, beginning at 5 p.m. April 25, at the Utica Community Center, Fourth St.

The menu will include fish, baked potato, hush puppies, slaw, dessert and drink, $8. A kids menu, hot dog, chips, dessert and drink, $5. Carryout available.

Proceeds will be used for the upkeep of the cemetery. If you have loved ones buried at the cemetery, please support the Cemetery Association. Weather permitting, this will be the perfect opportunity to visit the cemetery. The Cemetery Association is currently restoring the vault and having repair work done to the flag pole.



MAY 6

The Utica Preservation Association will meet at 7 p.m., May 6 at the Utica Community Center. The group meets the first Tuesday of the month.
