Volunteers needed for Clark County River Sweep

CLARK COUNTY — The 25th annual Clark County River Sweep will be held Saturday, June 21, at Falls of the Ohio State Park, Ashland Park and Charlestown State Park between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m.

Scouts, community, civic and student organizations, families and individuals are needed to help clean the banks of the Ohio River. Permission forms need to be signed in advance for minors in groups. Families checking in with kids can sign the forms at check-in.

Registration stations open at 8:30 a.m. Gloves, trash bags, bottled water, a free Ohio River Valley Sanitation Commission T-shirt and free admission to the Falls of the Ohio Interpretive Center will be provided.

Also, volunteers at the Falls of the Ohio can cool down in a mister station.

The Clark County River Sweep is sponsored by the Clarksville Stormwater Department in coordination with the Falls of the Ohio State Park and Clarksville Parks Department.
