Big 4 Station design forum Nov. 13

The city of Jeffersonville will conduct a public forum at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, to discuss the design of the Big 4 Station. The forum will take place in the City Council Chambers on the first floor of City Hall located at 500 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville.

City officials and the design team will be present to unveil the final design for the Big 4 Station, which will be located at the foot of the Big Four Pedestrian Bridge in downtown Jeffersonville. City representatives have been meeting with area residents over the last few months to finalize the design of the project.



FLOYD COUNTY

Property taxes due Nov. 13

Floyd County Treasurer Linda Berger reminds residents that the second installment of property taxes is due no later than Nov. 13. The deadline is extended because Nov. 10 is on a Saturday and Monday, Nov. 12, is when the country will celebrate Veterans Day and the City-County Building will be closed. The City-County Building will also be closed Nov. 6 for elections.

Taxes may be paid at most area banks. You will need to take your tax bill with you to the banks. PNC customers are welcome to use any other area bank to pay their taxes.

Taxes may also be mailed to Floyd County Treasurer, PO Box 2010, New Albany, IN, 47151. Postmarks will be accepted.

Penalties will be assessed on Wed., Nov. 14.



FMH Auxiliary hosting jewelry sale

Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services Auxiliary is bringing back one of its most popular fundraisers. On Tuesday, Nov. 6, the auxiliary will host the $5 Masquerade Jewelry and Accessories Sale.

The event will be in classrooms three and four of the Paris Education Center at the hospital, 1850 State St., from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Proceeds from the sales go toward the many hospital projects of the auxiliary. Cash, checks, credit cards as well as employee payroll deductions are welcome. For more information contact Karen Langdon at 812-948-6734.



NEW ALBANY

School to host annual blood drive

Grant Line Elementary School will host a blood drive in memory of Marquis Popp from 2 to 7 p.m., Nov. 2, in the school’s gym.

Popp was the grandson of our former secretary, Virginia Townsend. Everyone in the community is invited and encouraged to give. Every Grant Line student who has an adult donate on their behalf will be given a watch from the Red Cross.

Tea Party meeting this week

The Clark County Tea Party invites the public to the group’s next meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, at Silver Creek Middle School, 495 N. Indiana Ave., Sellersburg.

NEW WASHINGTON

Church hosting turkey supper

Trinity United Presbyterian Church, First and Poplar streets, New Washington, will be having its annual turkey supper from 5 to 7 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 3, in the church fellowship hall.

Carry-out will begin at 4:30 p.m. The menu includes turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, slaw, rolls, homemade dessert and drink. The price is $8 for adults and $5 for children.

The public is invited and encouraged to come and enjoy a wonderful meal and fellowship with friends and neighbors.
