JEFFERSONVILLE — A Corydon man found guilty in the shooting death of a 32-year-old mother of five received the maximum 65-year sentence in Clark County Circuit Court No. 1 on Monday.

Judge Dan Moore handed down the sentence following additional testimony given by family and friends of both the victim, Lisa McQuirt, and Ronald Wayne Shewmaker, 44, who was convicted of committing her murder.

Moore said during the sentencing hearing that the factors of the shooting, whch occurred in Clarksville in February, outweighed any mitigating circumstances taken into consideration by the court.

Moore imposed the minimum sentence of 45 years for the murder and raised it to a maximum sentence of 65 years because of the aggravating circumstances.
