Learn more about composting

Properly composted yard waste — everything from leaves to grass clippings to even kitchen scraps — can add nutrients and improve soil health wherever it is used.

To help homeowners manage waste and make their own compost, Clarksville Parks & Recreation is partnering with Purdue Extension to offer a class on yard waste composting. The class will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 21, in Endris Lodge in Lapping Park, Clarksville. The class is free and open to anyone wanting to know more about composting. Reservations can be made at or by calling Clarksville Parks at 812-283-5313.
