When: 4 to 8 p.m. Friday (DJ from 7 to 10 p.m.); 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday; noon to 9 p.m. Sunday

The Jeffersonville skating rink brings a little bit of Rockefeller Center to Historic Downtown Jeffersonville. Plus, the surrounding downtown shops and restaurants are close by for extra activities.
The Studio at Fairmont Neighborhood Center
When: Opening reception 6 to 8 p.m. Friday; open house 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday
Where: Central Christian Church Activities & Programs Building, 1403 E. Spring St., New Albany
In collaboration with The Performing Arts Ministry of Central Christian Church, Rauch, Inc., presents a public display of artwork from The Studio at Fairmont Neighborhood Center. Paintings, assemblages and prints will showcase the many talents of the artists with disabilities participating in the program. Attendees can view, celebrate and purchase these treasures. An art show and sale will take place on Friday, Jan. 24 and Saturday, Jan. 25. Rauch clients will have art on display which will be juried and then offered for sale. Friday’s reception from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. will announce the works selected by the jurors and provide light refreshments for the public’s enjoyment. The Potential in Everything

Where: The Carnegie Center for Art and History, 201 E. Spring St., New Albany
The Carnegie Center for Art and History presents the exhibit The Potential in Everything, on display Jan. 24 through April 5. The Potential in Everything features the artworks of Albertus Gorman and R. Michael Wimmer, two artists for whom collecting objects and art making go hand-in-hand. At the opening reception, explore the galleries and enjoy refreshments, live jazz by the Jamey Aebersold Jazz Quartet, and the opportunity to meet artists Albertus Gorman and R. Michael Wimmer. Internationally-known jazz musician Jamey Aebersold was recently named one of four 2014 Jazz Masters by the National Endowment for the Arts; please join the center in congratulating him on this monumental achievement.

Southern Indiana Metaphysical Network hosts a fundraiser for Hand-In-Paw Rescue on Friday. There will be animal communication consults (no dogs please, bring photos), card readers, palm readers, jewelry and lots of puppies to snuggle and kiss. A donation drive will also be happening. Here’s a list of much needed items: Blue Buffalo puppy food; gift cards to Feeders to purchase puppy food; paper towels; laundry detergent; bleach; Clorox wipes; baby wipes; puppy toys; puppy collars; and fleece blankets.
Man vs. Cigar
When: 6 to 11 p.m. Friday
Where: Riverside Cigar Shop and Lounge, 201 Spring St., Jeffersonville
