Jeffersonville Police Department investigators responded to a call of a body discovered behind Hardee’s restaurant along West Court Avenue about 3:40 p.m. Tuesday.
“We believe it’s a male, but I don’t have that confirmed yet,” Clark County Coroner Terry Conway said Tuesday afternoon.
The body was found by a resident of nearby Beverly Manor Apartments who was walking his dog, moments before police responded, said Todd Hollis, JPD detective. The remains were in a brush area at the base of a small group of trees several feet from an alley leading to Mulberry Street.
“[The body] was concealed in the bushes,” JPD Detective Isaac Parker said, and added that the body had been there for “a substantial amount of time.”
There were no immediate signs that foul play was involved in the death, Parker said.
The investigation is ongoing. Conway said he expects to learn more after meeting with the Louisville medical examiner today, June 26.
