Blessing of the animals is Sunday
A Community Blessing of the Animals will be at 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, at the First Presbyterian Church, 222 Walnut St. Jeffersonville (at the playground, if the weather is fair; in the gym, if not). This is a brief, fun service to honor our furry and feathered friends. Animals must be on leashes or in cages. “Bug juice” and animal crackers will be served afterward.

Annual turkey shoot coming up
St. Joseph Hill Catholic Church, 2605 W. St. Joe Road, Sellersburg, will host its annual turkey shoot, chicken dinner and fall festival, beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, at the church.
Adults, $9, age 4-12, $4, and 3 and younger free, dine in only.
Sheep for sale Saturday
The Washington County Sheep Association will hold its sixth-annual Midwest Hair Sheep Sale 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Washington County Fairgrounds, East Market Street, Salem. Animals will be penned and ready for viewing by 11 a.m.
More than 200 rams and ewe have been consigned for this sale. Breeds for sale include Dorper, White Dorper, Katahdin, Royal White, Barbados and crossbreds. A complete listing of animals for sale is posted on the association’s website at www.wcsheep.org.

Golf to help Greater Clark
The Greater Clark County Schools Educational Foundation will host its 12th annual “Golf Fore Kids.” Two flight times will be available to accommodate players: 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., both shotgun starts, Monday, Oct. 8, at the Jeffersonville Elks Club, Charlestown Pike, Jeffersonville.
