Q&As have been mailed

The News and Tribune has mailed questionnaires to candidates in the Nov. 6 election. The deadline for candidates to return these questionnaires is 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15. Late submissions will not be accepted.

If you are a candidate for office and have not yet received a questionnaire, call editor Shea Van Hoy at 812-206-2130. Also, requests for questionnaires to be sent to you electronically — via email — may be made to Van Hoy by emailing shea.vanhoy@newsandtribune.com

Celebrate ‘Sleepy Hollow’

Bring your family and celebrate “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” at the Charlestown-Clark County Public Library. This program is for the family to enjoy together and appropriate for all ages. Decorate a pumpkin, make a pumpkin candy bracelet, play games and more.

• Charlestown Library, 51 Clark Road, Charlestown, 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10

• Sellersburg Library, 430 N. Indiana Ave., Sellersburg, 2 to 4 p.m., Oct. 17

JEFFERSONVILLE

Sorority holding yard sale

Delta Phi Chapter of Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority will sponsor a yard sale, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, under the carport at 38 Center St., Jeffersonville.

Delta Phi Chapter supports the Bliss House, Clark County Chapter of the American Red Cross and gives a scholarship each year to a JHS college bound senior.

Legion hosting Octoberfest

American Legion Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion, 217 W. Court Ave., Jeffersonville, will sponsor an Octoberfest, indoors, beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at the American Legion Hall.

Booth rental space is $20 per table. Funds collected from booth rentals will go to support military veterans and families.

An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be served from 9 to 11 a.m. for $5 per person. Lunch will be served beginning at noon and music will be provided Saturday evening from 6 to 10 p.m. For more information, call 812-704-6629.
