The Ruth's Readers Reading Program is in memory of Ruth Engebretson, a long time Clarksville resident, teacher and friend to many. Ruth believed books could take you anywhere you might want to go.

Hospital offering free seminar
Clark Memorial Hospital Center for Orthopedics and Spine will host a free education seminar on osteoarthritis and knee and hip pain from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8 in the conference room of Clark Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Thomas Sehlinger, Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon, will lead the seminar focusing on the causes of knee and hip pain and getting good diagnosis. He will also discuss conservative and surgical treatment options. Additional information will be available on Clark Memorial’s Fast Track Joint Replacement program.

Library hosting singer, songwriter
The Jeffersonville Township Public Library will host singer/songwriter Aalan Rhody from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, at the Jeffersonville branch of the library.
Rhody’s appearance is part of the library’s series ArtSpace: Learn, Create, Enjoy. Rhoady, who has been part of the country and folk music world for the last 35 years, will give a one-hour performance followed by a question-and-answer session.

All you can eat chicken at K of C
The Knights of Columbus, 225 E. Market St., Jeffersonville, will sponsor an all-you-can-eat chicken dinner from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 10, at the K of C. Hall.
The menu of chicken, green beans, macaroni and cheese, potatoes and gravy, slaw, drink and dessert is $8. A large portion of the proceeds will be given to charity.
