Library hosting gardening event

The New Albany-Floyd County Public Library is hosting the monthly Midday Meet & Mingle at 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 1, in the Strassweg Auditorium. The library is located at the corner of Scribner Drive and Spring Street.

Whether you recently moved into a new home or you’ve just got the gardening itch, plan on attending.

Master Gardener Diane Wille will lead the discussion and answer questions. Get tips on amending soil, cold crops, seed starters and cold frames. Coffee and doughnuts will be served. For more information, call 812-949-3523.

Church hosting Easter events

Hour of Power church, 108 W. Main St., New Albany, will host its annual Sunrise Service and Easter Cantata on Sunday, March 31.

Sunrise Service will be held at Community Park at sunrise. Following Sunrise Service, breakfast served at Hour of Power Church. Easter Cantata will begin at 11 a.m. at the church.

Teen Mario Kart at library

The New Albany-Floyd County Public Library will be hosting its first-ever Mario Kart tournament from 3:30 to 5 p.m. today, March 29.

The tournament will be held in the Applegate Meeting Room. Teens and tweens will compete against each other for prizes on the popular Nintendo Wii racing game Mario Kart. No advance registration is necessary. For more information call the reference desk at 812-949-3523.
