TJE hosting annual Fall Festival

Thomas Jefferson Elementary will host its annual Fall Festival from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26.

In addition to a live auction, games and food from Texas Roadhouse, the festival will include a Halloween theme with all children receiving a free trick-or-treat bag. Attendees are encouraged to dress in their favorite Halloween costume. Festival proceeds will be used to support various causes that directly affect the students at Thomas Jefferson Elementary.

The community is invited and encouraged to attend! Thomas Jefferson Elementary is located at 2710 Hamburg Pike in Jeffersonville.

Puppet show to be held

The Jeffersonville Township Public Library, 211 E. Court Ave., Jeffersonville, will offer a puppet show with puppet parody of reality TV, blockbuster movies and current monster mania.

Packed with jokes for school-agers and up, the J.T.P.L. Youth Advisers and JTPL will present the Undead Got Talent at 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct., 27, in the second floor activity room of the library. Attendees may wear a costume.

Election board to meet

The Clark County Election Board will meet at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26 at the Clark County Government Building, 501 E. Court Ave. in the basement on judicial side.

The purpose is to hear challenged ballot applications. The meeting is open to the public.

Tea Party to meet today

The Clark County Tea Party invites the public to the group’s next meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 25, at Silver Creek Middle School, 495 N. Indiana Ave., Sellersburg.


Costume Carnival on the way

The Floyd County 4-H Corporation Board with the assistance of Pat Harrison of RE/MAX One is hosting the annual Costume Carnival for Floyd County youth.

This free event is community sponsored providing children a safe alternative for trick-or-treating. The carnival will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at the Floyd County 4-H Fairgrounds.

The 4-H Board is looking for local businesses that would support a table at the event by providing candy to distribute throughout the evening. Contact Kathy Redden at 812-923-3262 to reserve space and support this community event.

Celebrate World Community Day

The Floyd County Church Women United invite the public to attend World Community Day, an ecumenical service, at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 2 at Central Christian Church, 1315 E. Spring St., New Albany.
