Tea Party to meet

The Clark County Tea Party invites the public to the group’s weekly meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, at Silver Creek Middle School, 495 N. Indiana Ave., Sellersburg.

The guest speaker will be Greg Fettig of FreedomWorks. FreedomWorks recruits, educates, trains and mobilizes millions of volunteer activists to fight for less government, lower taxes and more freedom.

Tobacco prevention group meeting

The Clark County Tobacco Prevention Coalition will have its first meeting of the new grant cycle at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, in the Conference Room at the Lois Kratz Wellness Center, Clark Memorial Hospital, 1200 Missouri Ave., Jeffersonville.

‘101 Dalmatians’ production planned

“101 Dalmatians Kids ... A Labor Day Weekend Adventure!” will be presented Aug. 30 and Aug. 31 at 7:30 p.m. and Sept. 1 at 2 p.m. at Floyd Central High School Studio One, 6575 Old Vincennes Road, Floyds Knobs.

Tickets for the 30 minute show are $5 each. For more information, call 812-542-2284

Recommended for ages 2 and up.

FCHS open house is Thursday

Floyd Central High School will hold an open house at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22.

Parents and students should report to the auditorium for a brief meeting. At 7 p.m., parents will follow their student’s schedule and meet the teachers in 10 minute classes with six minute passing periods to the next class.

FMH hosting ‘Books R Fun’

The Floyd Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will be hosting “Books R Fun” fundraiser in August.

This sale will be held at the hospital, 1850 State St., New Albany, in classrooms one and two in the Paris Education Center from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 30.

This sale will feature all kinds of books including award winning children’s books, cook books, craft and gardening along with hobbies and novels with prices below average retail. Proceeds from this sale goes towards the many hospital projects sponsored by the auxiliary.

CHARLESTOWN

Learn about food preservation

Nancy Hudson, HHS Agent for the Clark County Purdue Extension Office is hosting a program on The Basics of Food Preservation from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 29 at the Charlestown Library. 51 Clark Road, Charlestown.

There is no charge for the program, but preregistration would be appreciated. To register, call 812-256-4591.
