KING OF SWING: Pete Rose touts social media company during Southern Indiana stop

Rose wasn’t the only former professional athlete to attend the event. Former University of Kentucky basketball player Rick Robey also touted the company, which specializes in combining multiple forms of social media into one platform for users.

Robey — who played on UK’s 1978 national championship team before going on to star for the Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics — is a Louisville Realtor who started using about two months ago. The service has helped him build his client base and stay in contact with potential buyers, Robey said.

He has worked for Re/Max for 25 years, and said other Realtors will find applications helpful, as you can text message as many as 15,000 people at once through the service, making mass marketing simpler.

“I feel like I’m going to be able to take this out across the country,” Robey said. “It’s going to be a winner for me.”

Once someone signs up for the service, they can earn money by recruiting others to join

Rose has his own campaign going through, through which he’s attempting to sign-up 4,256 users to match his hits record.

The company headquarters are in Pennsylvania, but also has a satellite office in Florence, Ky.

Businesses, nonprofits and coaches are among the targeted group for the service.

“Louisville is a market we’re quickly growing in,” co-founder Brian McLane said.

Social media marketing and presence aren’t just options for businesses anymore, they are mandatory for success, he continued.

The services offered by allow users to update social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook with messages and techniques that will help them reach more people, McLane added.

Just having a Facebook page or website that’s occasionally updated isn’t enough, he said.

“As a matter of fact, that’s counterproductive in today’s market,” McLane said.
