Soccer camp set for next week

The Silver Creek boys’ soccer team will host a camp July 22 to 25 at the Silver Creek Township Park. Times are 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The soccer program at SCHS is growing under the coaching staff of Colin Bell and Eric Stackhouse and the youth of the area are invited to be part of this growing program.

Cost for the camp is $30. Contact Bell at 502-303-1301 or Stackhouse at 502-240-7473 for further information.

 

JEFFERSONVILLE

Paving to start on Eighth Street

The Jeffersonville Street Department will start on an Eighth Street paving project next week from Perrin Lane to Penn Street.

Milling and paving work is expected to take three days and the road will still be passable during repairs, but delays will be likely. The street department is encouraging motorists to use alternate routes.

The milling work is expected to begin at 7 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, starting at Perrin Lane. Paving will also begin at 7 a.m. July 25 starting at Perrin Lane. The timeline for the milling and paving work is weather dependent.

 

First Harrison to celebrate decade

Celebrating 10 years in the neighborhood, First Harrison Bank, 2744 Allison Lane, Jeffersonville, is sponsoring a neighborhood party from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 20, at the bank. Bring the kids and enjoy food, fun and family and see Kyle Busch’s M&M NASCAR.

Ice cream, food and refreshments will be served from noon to 3 p.m.

 

NEW ALBANY

Motion Studios seeks dancers

Motion Studio in New Albany is looking for intermediate to advanced level dancers ages 10 to 18 to perform in benefit dance concerts in the fall. Dancers should have at three years of dance experience.

Auditions will be held Wednesday, July 24. Times and details are available online at motionstudioonline.com or by calling 812-207-4434. The studio is located at 3211 Grant Line Road.

You must reserve a spot in the audition no later than Monday, July 22. Spots will be limited to the first 45 reservations.
