JEFFERSONVILLE — A Borden man was arrested at his home Wednesday morning after a months-long investigation led to him being charged with D felony check deception.

According to a release from Indiana State Police, Ronald Scott Nicks, 44, was booked into the Michael L. Becher Adult Correctional Complex in Clark County and was awaiting his first court appearance Wednesday.

Reports from ISP allege Nicks, who previously owned Kentuckiana Trailer Ranch in Borden, sold a horse trailer on consignment for someone and then failed to pay the seller the total proceeds from the sale, which totaled $12,000.

ISP Trooper Tom Meneou began an investigation into the matter in December 2012, which led to a warrant for Nicks’ arrest being issued out of Clark County Circuit Court No. 3.
