Tickets on sale for wine and brew stroll in Jeffersonville

Downtown will host shopping with refreshements

JEFFERSONVILLE — Tickets are on sale in local shops and online for the fifth annual Hops, Shops, & Chardonnay.

The event, to be held on Oct. 4, allows participants to stroll through Jeffersonville’s historic downtown district as they sample wines and brews inside local shops. Jeffersonville Main Street Inc., a nonprofit downtown revitalization organization, and the merchants of downtown Jeffersonville are hosting the event as a way to showcase the locally owned businesses downtown and the progress taking place in the district.

The event takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. and features tasting stations of wines and craft brews located within downtown shops. Also offered at the event will be a variety of hors d’oeuvres, five live musical acts on the sidewalks and special sales at local shops.

Several area wineries will be on hand to offer wine tastings and sell wine by the bottle. On the night of the event, all participants must first go to the registration area in the Glossbrenner Garden at the corner of Spring and Chestnut streets. The first 250 people through the registration area will receive a commemorative glass.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 the day of the event (if available). Tickets are expected to sell out for this event.

Advance tickets are available at: online at http://www.jeffmainstreet.org/ or

• Choices Boutique, 437 Spring St., 812-283-6008

• Schimpff’s Confectionery, 347 Spring Street, 812-283-8367

Each participant must be at least 21 years of age in order to receive beer or wine tastings. Wine and beer must be consumed inside the business where it was poured.
