SOUTHERN INDIANA

 INDOT seeks plow drivers

The Indiana Department of Transportation is offering seasonal employment opportunities to prospective snow plow drivers. A job fair will be staged 3 to 8 p.m., Sept. 18, at the Falls City Subdistrict facility, 5701 U.S. Highway 31, Clarksville.

INDOT is looking for truck drivers with CDL licenses to work out of the Falls City Subdistrict or the Corydon Unit during the months of November through March. Applicants can choose to apply for employment on a 37 hour-per-week schedule or on-call status.

Those applying are asked to bring their license and resume. 

A state employment profile is required and can be created in advance at www.in.gov/spd, or it can be created at the job fair. 

 

Young’s office to hold Medicare seminar

The office of Rep. Todd Young (R-Ind.) will be holding a Medicare Seminar in conjunction with SHIP (State Health Insurance Assistance Program) from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 18, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation, 7823 Old State Road 60, Sellersburg.

The event will last an hour and will consist of a 30 minute presentation by SHIP and 30 minutes of questions and answers. The presentation will provide a broad overview of Medicare as well as address specific topics including open enrollment and understanding your Medicare bill. Everyone in the community is invited to attend. Caseworkers will be on hand to assist constituents with specific issues with Medicare and/or Social Security. Constituents who have questions should contact the Jeffersonville Constituent Service Center at 812-288-3999.

 

CLARKSVILLE

Providence class of 1963 to meet

The Providence High School class of 1963 will hold its 50-year reunion from 6 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, at Covered Bridge Golf Course Clubhouse, Sellersburg.

The cost is $40 per person which includes a buffet dinner and reunion happenings. A cash bar will be available. For more information or to make reservations, contact Cheri Harshey at 812-945-5957. The last day to register is Monday, Sept. 16.
