New residents invited to gather
New Friends and Neighbors of Southern Indiana will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the Schuler Bauer building, lower level, 4206 Charlestown Road, New Albany.
This will be a social potluck/social media meeting. Bring dish of your choice. Newcomers to the area and local residents are welcome.

Joint meeting coming up
A joint annual meeting of the Clark County 4-H Corp. and Purdue Extension-Clark County will at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 3 in the Community Building at the Clark County 4-H Center, 9608 Ind. 62, Charlestown.
A catered meal will be served as part of the annual meeting. The cost of the meal will be $10 per person, payable at the door the night of the meeting. However, reservations are required on or before noon Friday, Sept. 27. Call the Purdue Extension-Clark County office at 812-256-4591 to make reservations.
The program for the evening will feature testimony from 10 year 4-Her’s and how 4-H has influenced their lives. Nancy Hudson, the new Health and Human Science Extension Educator will share some of her programming plans for the upcoming year. Dave Hynes, Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Educator will also share his programing plans for the upcoming year.
In addition to the featured program, there will be the election of 4-H board members and extension board members.
Khuri hosting government meeting
The series Know Your County Government hosted by Councilwoman Kelly Khuri, continues Wednesday, Sept. 25.
Clark County Health Department’s Administrative Director Michael Meyer and Health Officer Dr. Kevin Burke, will be presenting, along with Pam Hudson, Scott Wilson and Bridget McCurdy.
The series takes place at the Jeffersonville Library located at 211 E. Court Ave. from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
The fifth in the series will be Oct. 23. The Clark County’s Sheriff’s Department will be presenting.
