Ask the Doctor Night set
Clark Memorial Hospital will host an Ask the Doctor Night from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 7 in the lower-level conference center at the hospital, 1220 Missouri Ave., Jeffersonville.
Speaking will be Dr. Rif S. El-Mallakh, director of the Mood Disorder Research Program at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance Louisville is offering this free event for those who may have questions regarding depression or bipolar illnesses.

Raise funds for Healing Rooms
“You are a miracle”, the doctor told Susie after a long bout with cancer that riddled much of her body. He continued on to say, “you are healed.”
Susie will be sharing her testimony of God’s grace and healing power Oct. 4 at the River’s Edge Healing Rooms, 801 E. Lewis and Clark Blvd., Clarksville, (behind the Green Tree Mall in old Green Tree Theater.) It’s a fund-raising dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m.. Susie will be speaking during this time.
Cost is $10 for adults and $6 for children 6 to 13 years of age.

Family Fundamentals class offered
Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services Birthing Center’s certified nurse midwife Carla Layne will present a New Family Fundamentals: Midwives, Doulas and Dads free class from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 25, at the hospital’s Paris Health Education Center.
Learn how a midwife can help during pregnancy, labor and delivery. Dads can be better prepared, too, by discovering fathering fundamentals. Plus, a doula will be introduced and will discuss their support role.

Annual alumni game on deck
The Jeffersonville Red Devils’ third annual Alumni baseball game is schedule for Saturday, Sept. 28.
The Jeffersonville High Baseball Boosters invite all previous players, coaches and managers to attend the Family Fun Alumni Day at the Don Poole field.
Registration begins at 3:30 p.m. with batting practice, a home run derby and a seven inning game. The entry fee is $40 which includes a T-shirt.

Barn dance and carnival on tap
Clark County 4-H will host its second-annual Barn Dance and Carnival on Saturday, Sept. 28.
Held in the Arena at the Clark County 4-H Fairgrounds, 9608 Ind. 62, Charlestown, the event runs from 4 to 11 p.m.. Proceeds benefit the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana-Clark County 4-H Scholarship Fund.
• 4 to 7 p.m. — Pulled pork and fried chicken dinner. Cost: $8 for an adult meal $5 for a child’s meal (ages 5-10); under 5 free.
• Also from 4 to 7, carnival games and activities for the family sponsored by various clubs in the community as a fundraiser for their purpose are available.
• 4 to 10 p.m. — silent auction Items from various businesses in the community will be available.
• 7 to 11 p.m. — square dancing with caller Tim Carmen, followed by country music featuring Dylan Johnson. Cost: $10/single $17/couple
