Bidding open on five historic homes

JEFFERSONVILLE — Sealed bids are being accepted on five historic homes in Jeffersonville that were moved earlier this year to make way for the Ohio River Bridges Project.

Anyone interested in bidding on the houses should go to the Indiana Department of Administration website at www.in.gov/idoa/2702.htm. The website includes instructions on how to submit bids, plus photos of and detailed information on each house.

Sealed bids are due by 3:30 p.m. Oct. 24. The houses all have preservation covenants requiring the purchaser to occupy the house for five years and to maintain the property in accordance with preservation standards acceptable to the Indiana State Historical Preservation Organization.

The five homes are located at: 411 E. Maple St., 626 E. Seventh St., 310 Mechanic St., 309 Pearl St. and 411 W. Market St.
