— Learn more about weight loss

Physicians’ Medical Center’s Bariatric Program, 4023 Reas Lane, New Albany, will continue a free weight loss series through December. The program offers patients a choice in bariatric care. It focuses on helping qualified overweight individuals succeed in losing and maintaining significant long-term weight loss.

The sessions will be held at 10 a.m. on the following dates: Oct. 26, Nov. 9 and 23 and Dec. 7 and 21.

Southern gospel concert set

A Southern gospel concert will begin at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, at Graceland Baptist Church, 3600 Kamer Miller Road, New Albany.

The concert will feature the Smith & Company Quartet along with former Graceland member Chyrell Lynn Sells. Chyrell now lives in Nashville and keeps a busy singing schedule there.

Safe driving class offered

AARP will hold its last Safe Driving Class of the year from noon to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the Clarksville Library, 1312 Eastern Blvd., Clarksville.

The cost of this four hour course is $12 for AARP members and $14 for nonmembers. The next time the course will be offered in Clarksville will be spring.

Classes are geared for people 50 and older and emphasize the how aging affects a person’s driving ability. Topics such as physical changes, rules of the road, driving on interstates, new car technology are covered through lecture, video and class discussion. Many auto insurance companies provide discounts for people who complete this course.

Meet a llama at the library

The Charlestown Library, 51 Clark Road, Charlestown, will host “Llamas at the Library” program from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday Oct. 26.

There will be a reading of “Llama, Llama, Red Pajama” and craft time. A llama and an alpaca will make an appearance around 11:30 a.m..

This family friendly program is free and open to all. Registration is suggested due to space. Call 812-256-3337.
