WAVE 3 News
What a week ... what a month. From highs in the 80s to lows in the 20s along with record rainfall and snow showers we’ve about seen it all. We’re not finished with the wild weather just yet ... there’s a chance for storms before the week is up.
However, today we start with a freeze warning and temperatures in the 20s. The end of the growing season has arrived. Temperatures will drop into the 20s again Saturday morning. The average high this time of the year would typically be in the upper 60s. This weekend we’ll stay about 10 to 15 degrees below normal with highs in the mid 50s.
Temperatures will may climb back near 70 degrees early next week before another wave of cooler air moves into Indiana. That cold front will bring a significant chance for rain ... some heavy! The highest rain chances look to be for the second half of the week — including Halloween. It could be soggy for trick-or-treating.
Fall color update: Trees are at about 80 peek of peak color. Another week will push us to peak ... A year that’s not nearly as colorful as last year. That’s close to the average date of the 25th.
