Bodies found during house fire response

JEFFERSONVILLE —

Two people found dead by Jeffersonville firefighters following a Saturday afternoon housfire were killed by gunshots.

The two who died have been identified as Morgan J. Julius, 26, and Courtney R. Grimm, 27, who lived in the home at 3001 Starview Court, near Hamburg Pike.

Clark County Coroner Terry Conway reported the bodies were found in a bathroom of the home by firefighters conducting search and rescue operations.

Autopsies were performed earlier Sunday.

“The Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office has determined the cause of death for both victims to be from the result of gunshot wounds, and there is an ongoing investigation being held by the Jeffersonville Police,” Conway said in a statement.

According to Conway's office, funeral arrangements for Grimm are being handled by Scott funeral home in Jeffersonville, and funeral arrangements for Julius have not been determined.
