Weather advisory calls for 2 to 4 inches of snow overnight

Winter weather advisory runs from 7 a.m. today through 1 p.m. Wednesday

> SOUTHERN INDIANA — As much as 4 inches of snow is in the forecast for Clark and Floyd counties, according to a winter weather advisory issued by the National Weather Service in Louisville.

It will be in effect from 7 p.m. today through 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Rain will change over to snow this evening after sunset and will continue through Wednesday morning with some moderate to heavy bands of snow possible. The range of snow expected is 2 to 4 inches, according to the NWS. The snow will make travel hazardous, especially during Wednesday rush hour, the NWS reports.

Also, westerly winds will gust from 30 to 35 mph tonight, which may cause blowing snow and reduced visibility.

The chance of snow is 90 percent. A high of 37 is in the forecast for Thursday and warmer temperatures are expected at the end of the week and weekend. The Sunday high is forecasted at 62.
