LATE THURSDAY RESULTS

BOYS’ TRACK & FIELD

DRAGONS WIN MSC CHAMPIONSHIP

Silver Creek won its first boys’ Mid-Southern Conference track and field championship in over 20 years Thursday at Corydon Central.

Schuyler Hosp won the discus and the shot put and the Dragons won two of the three relays to score 126 points, 14 ahead of runner-Brownstown Central. Hosp and Spencer Harris gave the Dragons a valuable 1-2 finish in the discus.

“Obviously, we are very pleased with the results,” Silver Creek coach Darrell Kingery said. “It is hard to pick out individuals when every point counts to win and every one of our guys put forth a great effort in the win. It was an exciting night and a great night to be a Dragon.”

Clarksville finished seventh behind Marquise Parrish’s three conference titles. He won the 100 meter, the 200 and the long jump.

Eastern was eighth with the Musketeers’ 400-meter relay team and Dakota Jackson in the 400 taking MSC titles. Charlestown finished ninth as a team.
