Silver Creek shuts out Clarksville: Caleb Popp was the only Silver Creek player who had a multihit game and earned the victory on the mound in Creek’s 13-0 win over Clarksville on Saturday.

Teammate Kaden Sidebottom went 1-for-4 with a double. Also collecting one hit for Silver Creek were Landon Kruer, Conner Young, Drew Baxter, Miles Hall and Heath Knight.

Silver Creek will play HYR at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The News and Tribune sports department is requesting coaches from all District 5 All-Star teams to report their results from each of their team’s games during the District 5 tournament.

Coaches can call in their results to our department at 812-206-2116 or email results to sports@newsandtribune.com.

Our sports department needs the following information from each game: division (e.g. 11-12 baseball, 9-10 softball, 13-14 baseball), final score, score by innings for each team, highlights for each team (e.g. multihit players who go 2-for-3, 3-for-3, etc.; outstanding pitching performances), pool play records for each team, next game for each team.
