Bats to have Peanut Allergy Awareness Night tonight
The Louisville Bats will host Peanut Allergy Awareness Night and postgame fireworks tonight (Friday, May 10) at Louisville Slugger Field in conjunction with Family Allergy & Asthma.
The 2013 season marks the third year the Bats and Family Allergy & Asthma have collaborated on such an event to allow those with peanut allergies to attend a game. For tonight’s game, no peanuts or products with nuts will be used or sold in concession stands and absolutely no peanuts will be permitted to be brought through the gates. The Bats will host a second Peanut Allergy Awareness Night on Friday, July 26.
The Bats will host the Buffalo Bisons, Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, from tonight through Monday, May 13 for the teams’ only four meetings in Louisville this year.
The ZOOperstars will be making an appearance for the Saturday, May 11 game at 6:05 p.m. For the Mother’s Day 2:05 p.m. game on Sunday, May 12, moms will be treated to premium seats for just $8 (normally $11) and kids can play catch with their moms in the outfield following the game. Iron Man also will be making an appearance Sunday.
The Bats have averaged 9,040 fans per game at Louisville Slugger Field since its opening in 2000 and have totaled more than 8.2 million fans through 13 seasons.
