H.S. ROUNDUP: Big Four goes to Providence

Pioneers have four players in 30s to knock off FC

• Hornets down Lanesville: Dakota Harrell went 4-for-5 with a double, a home run and six RBIs in Henryville’s 14-7 home win over Lanesville on Monday. The Hornets’ Bailey Hall had a double and a homer, and Henryville’s Cody Reister was the winning pitcher.

“Even though we won the game, we lacked focus for all seven innings and never really had any killer instinct the entire game,” Hornets’ coach Jeff Schroeder said. “If not for our ability to put up some runs, we would have lost this game. Our overall execution on the mound, at the plate and in the field just weren’t good.”

NEXT: Henryville (12-6) at Borden, Wednesday.

• Pirates win Mustang Classic: On Saturday at Edgewood, Class 3A No. 5 Charlestown defeated Seymour in the Mustang Classic championship game, 7-5. The Pirates’ Bethany Hall went a combined 6-for-7 in Saturday’s three games, while teammate Alyssa Price smacked two home runs with one being a grand slam in the title game.

Here are weather postponements from Monday with reschedule dates and times for some events:

• BASEBALL: Borden at Orleans, Rock Creek Academy at New Washington, Silver Creek at Austin (5 p.m., today).

• SOFTBALL: Orleans at Borden, Salem at Charlestown (5 p.m., May 14).
