HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Braves beat Clarksville for fifth straight win

Providence clinches winning regular season; Hornets win on Senior Night; Pirates roll at North Harrison

• Pirates roll past Cats: Charlestown won its fifth straight Mid-Southern Conference game by dominating North Harrison in the Cats’ gym, 61-43 on Tuesday.

“It was a big win for us,” Charlestown coach Sam Terrell said. “It gives us a winning record (10-9), a winning record in the conference (5-4) and sets the tone for the sectional for us.”

Kaitlynn Henning’s 21 points tied North Harrison’s Kendra Lambert for game-high honors, but it was Justice Burdin who dominated the paint. Burdin finished with 18 points, 18 rebounds and five blocked shots in the triumph.

“She was a monster,” Terrell said.

Emliy Young added eight points for the Pirates.

“We played strong as a team,” Terrell said. “We did a lot of things [well] that we’ve been working on.”

NEXT: Charlestown (10-9) hosts Madison (15-4), Friday.
