HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Night of the Future Stars takes place at FC

Recruits from Big Three participate in event

FLOYDS KNOBS — The Night of the Future Stars, a prelude to tonight's Kentucky Derby Festival Basketball Classic, took place on Thursday night at Floyd Central's Highlander Gymnasium.

During Thursday's festivities, players in the annual Classic competed in two-on-two competitions, a slam-dunk contest and a 3-point shooting contest. It was the first time Floyd Central had hosted the event.

Recruits for the area's Big Three universities - Indiana, Louisville and Kentucky - participated in the Night of the Future Stars. They were Indiana recruits Devin Davis, Collin Hartman, Luke Fischer, Stanford Robinson and Troy Williams, Louisville recruits Akoy Agau, Anton Gill, Dillon Avare and David Levitch and Kentucky recruits Derek Willis and Dominique Hawkins.

Tonight's Derby Festival Classic will tip off at 7 at Freedom Hall in Louisville.
