Grenadiers' Batliner earns two KIAC awards



• Chip Hockenbury (Hanover baseball, Jr.) — weekly stats: 0-0 record, 3 1/3 innings pitched, no runs allowed, three hits, three strikeouts, no walks; notes: no-decision relief outing in the Panthers’ 4-1 home loss to Anderson in Game 2 of a doubleheader; team records: 14-16 overall, 7-10 HCAC; Hockenbury’s record: 0-1.

• Chris O’Connor (Marian men’s track, Jr.) — top performance: third in the high jump at the Purdue Dave Rankin Invitational last weekend, 6-4 3/4.


• James Borengasser (Spalding men’s track, Borden native, Jr.) — notes: Rose-Hulman Twilight Meet, last Friday — 12th in the 3,000, 10:32.52; Cedarville (Ohio) Collegiate All-Comers Meet, Saturday — 27th in the 1,500, 4:57.65.

• Brooke Conder (Spalding softball, Jeffersonville native, Louisville Presentation Academy graduate, Jr.) — notes: 0-for-1 in the Golden Eagles’ 14-4 victory in five innings at Blackburn on Saturday in Game 2 of a doubleheader; team records: 15-17 overall, 8-6 SLIAC.

• Jaime Leon (Thomas More men’s track, Jeff native, Louisville Trinity graduate, Fr.) — notes: 28th in the 1,500 at the Cedarville (Ohio) Collegiate All-Comers Meet on Saturday, 5:15.12.
