COLLEGE SOFTBALL: Povaleri named KIAC Player of the Week

NEW ALBANY —  Indiana University Southeast freshman Cadie Povaleri was named the KIAC softball Player of the Week by KIAC officials on Monday.

The Madison native drove in a pair of runs on a double in her only game last week as the Grenadiers defeated Concordia 4-3. She also scored later in the inning. The IU Southeast freshman is batting .364 on the season (4-for-11). She has two doubles, four runs batted in and a double in seven games played.

Indiana University Southeast is currently 6-5 overall and 1-1 in KIAC play.


Indiana University Southeast freshman Madison Ray was named the KIAC softball Pitcher of the Week by KIAC officials on Monday.

The Holy Cross (Ky.) graduated earned the win in the Grenadiers’ 4-3 victory against Concordia. She only allowed five hits in seven innings pitched while striking out three Concordia batters. The freshman pitcher is 1-1 on the season and currently has a 4.63 earned run average over 22 2/3 innings.
