COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL: Asbury hands Grenadiers first KIAC loss of season

WILMORE, Ky. — The Indiana University Southeast volleyball team suffered its first Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference loss of the season on Tuesday at Asbury (15-6, 6-1 KIAC), 25-21, 25-19, 21-25, 25-21.

Junior Sara Schum led the Grenadier hitters with a match-high 18 kills along with eight digs. Teammate Jade Troutman recorded 11 kills, while IU Southeast junior setter Meghan Tompkins dished out a match-high 40 assists and had six digs.

Also for the Grenadiers (10-7, 2-1), junior Stephanie Bradshaw made a match-high 19 digs, junior Kristen Newberry had nine digs and New Albany graduate Nicole Jones recorded six kills and six digs.

Christian Academy graduate and Asbury freshman Rachel Boesing had a match-high five blocks and five kills. IU Southeast will host a pair of conference matches on Saturday versus Carlow and IU Kokomo.
