• Alexis Bauer (Samford volleyball, Floyds Knobs native, Louisville Sacred Heart graduate, Sr.) — weekly stats: 56 digs, three assists; top performance: match-high 34 digs in the Bulldogs’ 3-2 victory last Sunday at Wofford; team records: 18-8 overall, 10-2 Southern Conference.

• James Borengasser (Spalding men’s cross country, Borden native, Jr.) — notes: 39th at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships last Saturday in Hillsboro, Ill., 29:09.9. The Golden Eagles won the SLIAC title for the first time ever with 43 points.
