The city of your life is built on a hill. What are people expecting to see when they get there? Are you the old man who is always cantankerous, always edgy? Are you the lady who is never satisfied with anything, always finding fault? Are you the person who professes a faith but rarely displays it?
Jesus said to his followers, “Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill” (Matthew 5:14, The Message). It’s on that rock that Jesus built his church.
The barns are painted. The signs are put up. You’re in the limelight. Built on a hill. We can only hope that people See Rock City.
