NEW ALBANY —
The city has planned an evening of family entertainment the Saturday before Halloween that will include trick-or-treating for children in New Albany.
The Trunk or Treat event will begin at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 27 in the east parking lot of the New Albany Riverfront Amphitheater. Along with city departments, businesses and organizations are encouraged to reserve a spot for their vehicles along the riverfront property for trick-or-treating festivities.
There also will be laser tag, an obstacle course, inflatables, a coloring contest and a “game row” along the riverfront, according to Mayor Jeff Gahan’s administration.
“This is a great opportunity for parents to bring their children to a safe, fun environment for trick-or-treating,” Gahan said.
The Trunk or Treat will end at 7:30 p.m., and then there will be a free showing of the movie “Monster House” at 7:45 p.m. at the amphitheater. Hot dogs, popcorn and sodas will be available for purchase while the movie is playing.
On Tuesday, the New Albany Board of Public Works and Safety established the official Halloween trick-or-treat hours for 5 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 31.
Businesses and organizations interested in participating in the Trunk or Treat event should e-mail the city at firstname.lastname@example.org
