FLOYDS KNOBS — Paul Parsons moved a load of cantaloupe melons out of his vegetable garden next to his home along Paoli Pike in Floyds Knobs on Friday afternoon. "I enjoy watching things grow," Parson said. He sells the produce in front of his home, and leaves a box next to the price list for customers to pay on the honor system. "It's a real challenge sometimes," Parsons said about keeping his garden. The plentiful rain earlier this season has left him with many weeds, and animals such as ground hogs and deer sometimes eat the vegetables. He said it's hard to do anything about the weeds without damaging the roots of the vegetables, but he leaves a radio playing under a plastic bag in the garden at night to deter the animals.
