Ivy Tech Legacy Award Gala honorees announced

Event planned for Sept. 12

SELLERSBURG — Ivy Tech Southern Indiana Chancellor Rita Hudson Shourds announced recipients of the 2014 Legacy Award Gala.

For the first time, a husband and wife couple have been chosen for the honor, as a result of their long-standing commitment and support for the Southern Indiana community. This year’s recipients are the late James W. Robinson and his wife of more than 12 years, Phyllis A. Robinson.

“We couldn’t be more pleased to bestow this honor to the Robinson’s, and we certainly couldn’t find a couple more deserving,” Shourds said in a release.

The Legacy Award Gala is a semi-annual event focused on recognizing those who give of themselves in service to the greater good.

The gala is set to be held Sept. 12 at the historic Grand Theatre in New Albany. For information about tickets or to reserve a table, contact Bill White at
